Pre Race Nutrition Tips
  • Give close consideration to the meal you eat the night before. As you know by now it should be high in carbohydrates and low in fat and protein.
  • Avoid any foods that may give you problems--beans, broccoli, cream sauce, cheese, fried food.
  • Eat things that are simple and similar to how you normally eat. You can practice your pre-race meal the night before your training runs to see how it works.
  • Keep alcohol to a strict minimum, or skip it altogether.
  • Finally, the night before is not the time to experiment with new foods; the result of the experiment could be hindered performance the next day.
