About the artist - Juan-Luis Sanchez was born and raised in England to Spanish and American parents, Juan-Luis Sanchez grew up bilingual in both London and rural Spain. It was film that took him to Hollywood, moving to Los Angeles in 1997 to work as a special effects artist for movies, later moving to San Francisco to work for George Lucas. Juan-Luis has worked on such films as Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. As a photographer, he favours a simpler and stripped down approach. Film, not digital; documentary, not fiction; sunlight, not studio fluorescence; happy accidents, not manufactured perfection. In early 2007 he returned to London, where he now resides. He plans to return to California in 2008.
